The presentation of the seniors Angus League trophy and flag took place at the Abbey on wednesday 31st  when Abbey played
   against a Angus select made up from teams within the league, a great afternoons bowling was enjoyed by all ending in a win for

  The seniors mixed singles final was a close game eventually won by David Mitchell 21 - 18 against  Eli Marnie, In the semi finals of
  seniors mens pairs Sandy Steele & Dave Wilson beat Tom Mill & Jim S. Paterson  21 - 11 , and Bob Tosh & Ron Wilson won 23 - 15
  against Jim Crichton & John Prouse , the remaining semi final of the fours was won  by Jim R. Cargill , Jim Crichton , John Prouse &
  Ron Wilson as they beat Dale Smith , Bob Skea , Burnett Taylor & Dave Wilson 20 - 12 ,
 
   The Ladies played both semi finals of the May Knox singles resulting in wins for Eli Marnie who beat  Emma Philip 21 - 17 , and also
   Lynn Whammond who won 22 - 8  against  Margaret Croll . in the final of the Handicap singles Emma Philip beat Lynn Wammond 21
  12, This weeks friendly was away to Baxter Park , where Abbey won as the rink skipped by Helen Calder won 14 - 16 and Liz 
   Lowson,s rink lost 14 - 13
 
 The mens weekend fixtures were away to Fairfield which Abbey won , and at home they played  the second leg of our annual competition against Arbroath for Rab,s Boots , Abbey went into this second leg twenty shots up , however Arbroath turned up ready to make a fight of it and did so by turning the deficit into a thirty three shot victory.

   The final of the nominated rinks was a close and exciting game which was won by Tom McIntosh , Jim Taylor , John Prouse and Doug
  Petrie as they beat Dave Wilson , Burnett Taylor , Colin McKay and Malcolm  Anderson  16 - 14 , In the final of the mens handicap
  competition J,K, Paterson won 21 - 11 against Jim Arthur , the other final played was the nominated pairs , the winners being Bob
  Tosh and Jim Arthur as they beat Jim R Cargill and Colin McKay 23 - 10 . The semi finals of the Chapel were won by Ron Wilson as
  he beat Jim Arthur two sets to one , also winning  was Malcolm Anderson  beating  Ian Croll by the same score.
  The seniors game against Lochee on wednesday had to be cancelled due to their green being flooded , fortunately fridays mixed
   rinks game against Carnoustie  W/End  went ahead and a very enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

  In the semi finals of the seniors mens singles John Prouse beat Dave Whitton 21 - 10, and  Bob Tosh  won 21 - 17 against Gordon
  Midwinter , Burnett Taylor beat Sy Steele  21 - 20  and  Tom Mill won  21 - 15  against George Ross .
 
  Also played this week were the club Championship Finals with the fours competition being won by David Penman, Jim Crichton ,
  Craig Paton and Tom Mill  !7 - 10  against  Declan Johnston , Brian Williams , Bob Tosh and Colin McKay , the Triples were won by
  Doug Lundie , Brian Johnston and Dave Wilson winning  22 - 11 against  Dirk Graham , Bob Tosh and Dave Whitton, the singles
  Champion is Ali Burnett beating Colin McKay  21 - 16.  A  semi final in the Consolation Cup was won by Doug Lundie as he beat
  Bob Tosh 15 - 10 .
 
  Saturdays fixture was at home against Kirriemuir which Abbey lost by nineteen shots >

  In the Three Counties Abbey were away to Errol , Anstruther , and Scone losing in all three .
 
  The Ladies played both semi finals of the Alice Laing Triples resulting in a win for Joyce Wilson , May Dundas and Janette Tosh as
  they beat Sheila Bowick , Mary Stewart and Helen Calder  15 - 11 , the other being won by Ann Taylor , Davina McGregor and
  Mabel Main 15 -12 against Lauren Cargill , Ella Moss and Jean Graham
 
  On Sunday Abbey was the venue for the Scottish Young Bowlers Association district Final in the fours competition for the
  Andy Houston Trophy , unfortunately Perthshire were unable to field a team leaving just three those being Fife , West Fife and 
 Angus & Dundee , each county provided four teams who play each other with two points for a winning team plus shots to decide 
  who shall win. With all teams being well supported the crowd helped created a great atmosphere as they were entertained by excellent
 bowling from all three teams , when they broke for lunch it was still anyones game with both Fife teams on two points , although 
 Angus & Dundee had no points they were ahead on shots and needed to win there next game to be in with a chance of qualifying 
 It wasnt to be as they just lost by three shots to West Fife leaving them with nil points + 129 shots , West Fife two points + 122 
 shots and the winners Fife on four points + 144 shots , there were no less than ten youngsters from Abbey in the Angus & Dundee team.
